My Latest Obsession!

Lately my new obsession is buying things to decorate our house with! I started with wanting a new comforter for the bed and next thing I knew I wanted to hang all sorts of things on the walls and it's becoming an obsession! Here are some pics of our newest additions to the house!

Star in the entry way above my rod iron bench!

Cute home sign for just above the entry into the kitchen!

That's right...the next picture if of a new dining room table! We went to RC Willey a couple weeks ago with the intent of looking at comforters for the bed and walked out with a new dining room table! We have wanted a formal dining room table since we moved in to our new house and my awesome aunt was going to give us one for free but we couldn't figure out how to get it from Wisconsin to Utah so we ended up buying this one! It has a glass top and a beautiful sideboard!

Next purchase for the dining room....Chandelier and Hardwood Floors!

Entry from kitchen to dining room!

View from the front room at the new table!

Since we had a new dining room table we needed a
new centerpiece for the table and painting for this room!

New rod iron accent above the sink!

New fall centerpiece for the kitchen table!

New plant for the family room, my mom bought us this one!

New shelves and pictures on either side of the curtains in the family room!

These shelves are so fun, the add some dimension and you can decorate them with whatever you want to put on them!

The other shelf and pictures in the family room!

And my favorite new decorations in the house....our new bedroom stuff! Beautiful new comforter set, new curtains, and new decorations on the wall!

I had the vision of these decorations on the wall behind the bed. I was a little nervous how it would turn out but I think it turned our awesome! I love the way it looks!

U of U Football Game

Last Saturday our awesome neighbors and friends James and Kristina gave us tickets to the University of Utah football game! We both love football, so we were so excited! We had a great time even though I was sick, it was raining like crazy and quite cold! It was fun to be so close to the action, football in person is so different from football on TV! Jayson got soaked so we left at half time but the U was killing Colorado so we figured it was okay if we left! It was our first U of U football game and hopefully not our last!

Snowbird!

Last Sunday we decided that we deserved a little time away so we went up to Snowbird Ski Resort for their brunch! Anyone who knows us knows that we love the brunch at Snowbird, it's amazing food and the most beautiful surroundings! We had such an awesome time! We ate brunch, saw some moose on our way into the restaurant, walked around October Fest, road the Peruvian Chair Lift to the top of the mountain, walked through the people moving tunnel and enjoyed spending some time together! Here are some pics of our day!

The moose that welcomed us to the resort!

Our Summer Project!

Well with the summer almost over we are almost done with the yard! We have a few little finishing touches to add to things like some more plants and things but we are done with all the big stuff! We started with a 1/3 acre lot with lots of very tall weeds and now we have ended with a beautiful yard!
I'm so glad Jayson has such a good eye for all of this stuff he completely envisioned the whole thing, designed it and made it all come together! I think it turned out so good and the best part is that we did every thing by ourselves! It was really hard to do it all ourselves and there were times when i wanted to just pay people to come do it but looking back at it, it is awesome to think of all the things that we did that we could have had someone else do but chose to do it by ourselves! It is an awesome feeling knowing what we accomplished and seeing how well it turned out! Here are some before and after pictures of the yard! Enjoy!

Pineview Trip!

This past weekend we went up to Pineview with my Family and camped for the weekend. It was the first time all summer that Jayson and I had been camping. My parents pulled up their new fifth wheel trailer that they just bought for their upcoming adventures now that they are retired! It is really nice and big enough that all 5 of us could sleep in! It was so nice to have a trailer to sleep in and hangout in. We need to get us one! It had been a hard past week in our lives so we needed to get away and relax! We had a lot of fun fishing, relaxing in the shade, going for walks, hanging out on the beach and eating some awesome dinners made by Jayson the Chef!

Jayson and my dad getting dutch oven ribs and potatoes ready!

Sasha Bear and my mom! Sasha loves her grandma and doesn't want anything to do with me or Jayson when she is around!

My dad cutting up Watermelon...one piece for the bowl one piece for him!

Me attempting to throw the Frisbee behind my back!
It took practice but I can do it now!

My dad playing Frisbee with us!

Jayson getting the briquettes ready...and of course being goofy at the same time!

My stud cooking for us! All the food turned out so good!

Me and my sweetheart...dirty, sunburned, with no makeup having a great time!

My Husband the Chef!

A couple Sundays ago Jayson made some amazing Peach and Raspberry Cobbler for us! He loves to do dutch oven cooking and does cobbler a lot! He is well known for his amazing dutch oven dinners and cobbler, but this time he decided to try a different recipe! It turned out so good! It tasted like heaven and it was like a piece of art to look at in the dutch oven!
The chef at work!

I told you it looked as amazing as it tasted! Isn't it pretty!

Our day in the Emergency Room!

Last Thursday while at work Jayson was walking one of his patients to the bathroom when she collapsed! Jayson had to catch her and carry her the rest of the way to the bathroom. Well that night he said he had felt something happen when he caught her and his back hurt but being the tough guy he is he didn't let it stop him and he went back to work the next day. Well when he came home on Friday night he was having a hard time walking cause his back hurt so bad but of course he just thought it would get better....it didn't! By Saturday morning it hurt more, but he still went out and mowed our lawn....really bad idea! After mowing the lawn he came in the house laid down and was in so much pain he couldn't move! We tried having him take some medicine, icing it, stretching , everything we could think of but he still was laying on the floor in so much pain! When he started to cry from the pain we decided it was time to go to the Emergency room! When we got to the ER he was still in a lot of pain but his whole left leg had gone numb! The Doctor said that he needed an MRI to see what had happened! They put us in a room and we waited! Well 2 hours later he went to have his MRI! He came back 5 minutes later and said he had been bumped down the list because they had a trauma...so we waited again! An hour later they took him down and did his MRI! We then waited another 2 hours for the radiologist to read the MRI and the orthopaedic specialist to come talk to us!
So 6 hours later at 11:00pm we found out that Jayson ruptured 2 discs in his spine one pretty bad and one really bad! The orthopaedic specialist said the bad one was one of the worst ruptured discs he has seen! So Jayson can't work for at least 2 weeks and they are going to try steroids for a week and then evaluate again and see if he will need surgery! We are really really really hoping he doesn't!

Missouri Trip

So the second week in July we took a road trip to Missouri for Jayson's sister Kayla's wedding! Airline tickets to Missouri are outrageous ($600 a person...we flew to Hawaii for less!) so we decide to drive! My dad was nice enough to let us borrow his Chrysler 300 to drive out there...it is a really nice car so I was nervous to drive it but it was awesome to ride it luxury! We learned that Missouri is a long way away from Utah...1286 miles on way and a 20 hour drive to be exact! Jayson can't stand to drive to Provo because it is too far so it was a whole new adventure!
The drive out ther wasn't too bad, it went by fairly quickly and 20 hours later we were in Branson, Missouri! We decided to drive straight through rather then spend the money on a hotel so we got to Branson at 6 am! After getting lost once, even with a navigation system, we found our hotel! Of course we couldn't check into our hotel until 3 pm so we went to see Jayson's mom for a bit! It was fun to see her, we haven't seen her since Jayson and I's wedding 4 years ago! After a short visit we were both exhasted to say the least so we went back to the hotel and slept by the pool in the pool chairs until our room was ready!
That night we went to dinner with the fam and then went mini golfing with Jayson's Grandpa Cabe, his wife Cindy and granddaughter Libby! We had a lot of fun...Jayson kicked our butts of course! Branson is a pretty cool place it's beautiful with lots of trees and a lot of fun things to do!
The next day was the wedding! It was a bit humid but it always is in the midwest! The setting was beautiful and so was the wedding! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Parmenter! Jayson, my little photographer took lots of pictures her are just a few of them!

-------------------

You probably didn't know that Branson is a big spot for celebs! We ran in to a lot of them while we were there and all of them were very nice and willing to let us get some pictures with them! Tom Hanks, Pierce Brosnan, Nicholas Cage, Johnny Depp...just to name a few!

JK! We went to the Hollywood wax museum with Jayson's grandpa! I thought it was awesome! Most of them look so life like it is so cool to think they are made out of wax!
---------------------
On our last day in Branson we went down by one of the lakes in town to a place called The Junction...it was awesome it was beautiful a shoppers heaven! I wish we had known about it sooner in the trip...it might have been a more expensive trip if we had known sooner so maybe its a good thing we didn't know until the last day!

A cool "fog" sits on the water it is really pretty!

Looking out over the lake!

The Junction...shopping, shopping and more shopping!

Dancing fountain at the Junction...and of course my cute husband!

Another fountain at The Junction...what a pretty place!

We had a great trip and it was so fun to see Jayson's family! Hopefully it won't be 4 years this time! The drive home was really really really long but we made it safe and sound!
